According to this gradation, the republic is independent in six of the nine main categories of food products.
Kyrgyzstan has the highest rates in terms of provision with fruits and berries (111 percent), milk and dairy products (110 percent). The level is slightly lower for potatoes (99 percent), vegetables and melons (96 percent), eggs (90 percent) and meat of all kinds (87 percent).
The provision with grain (62 percent), sugar (68 percent) and vegetable oil (11 percent) is below the level of food independence.
«The expansion of mutual trade and cooperation between the Eurasian countries, preservation of well-functioning international trade mechanisms are important elements in ensuring food security in the EAEU region, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,» the Eurasian Development Bank notes.
