Kyrgyzstani included in list of 100 inspiring women for 2022

The BBC has revealed its list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2022. It includes Ainura Sagyn, a software developer, one of the founders and director of Tazar startup from Kyrgyzstan.

«As a computer engineer, ecofeminist, and CEO of a start-up, Ainura Sagyn has been applying her skills to build technology-based solutions to environmental problems. She founded Tazar, an app which connects waste producers — everyone from households and individuals to restaurants, factories and construction sites — with recyclers. The app aims to reduce the waste that winds up in landfills and eventually tackle the problem of sustainability in Central Asian countries.

She has also led workshops in coding and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) for over 2,000 schoolgirls in different regions of Kyrgyzstan,» BBC reports.

It is noted that the BBC team involved in the 100 Women project compiled the final list, based on their research and recommendations from the news agency’s language services.

«We were looking for candidates who made headlines or influenced important stories in the past 12 months, as well as those who can tell inspiring stories, achieve something significant, or impact their community in ways that won’t necessarily make the news. The group of names were then judged according to this year’s theme — the progress made in various fields over the past decade,» the news agency says.
