Animal rights activists came to the Interior Ministry building in Bishkek. According to one of the organizers of the rally, volunteer Kunduz Israilova, this step was caused by the inaction of law enforcement officers.
«We came to the Interior Ministry because the police do not respond to our complaints about the illegal shooting of stray animals. Several dozen of them have been filed this year alone. Cases of cruelty to animals have also increased, which also remain without attention of law enforcement agencies. We demand to toughen punishment for cruelty to animals,» she said.
The animal rights activist pointed out that all their appeals to the state authorities are still ignored. The law on the protection of animals has never been adopted by the Parliament.
It is not the first protest over the past year. Last time the animal rights activists held a rally in Bishkek in November.
