Delegation of Kazakhstan arrived in Kyrgyzstan to study the experience and conditions of creation of a textile and knitted cluster in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reported.
Deputy Ministers Zharasul Abduraimov and Eldar Alisherov have already met with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by the Vice Minister Marat Karabaev. The parties discussed issues of further cooperation in the light industry.
Discussing possible partnership in this direction, Eldar Alisherov noted the problems in the export of light industry goods, transiting through Kazakhstan to Russia. He proposed creation of trade and logistics centers in the border districts of the two countries.
The Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Marat Karabaev proposed to develop industrial cooperation in the field of textile and clothing production.
Creation of joint or foreign enterprises in the textile industry for processing of cotton and wool has also been proposed. Kyrgyzstan has raw materials for this — cotton and wool. The republic is interested in attracting foreign investors to deepen the processing of cotton fiber on the territory of the country, since finished products are in great demand in the EAEU states.
