Kyrgyzstan’s state debt. Each citizen owes $ 708.6

As a result of 2018, the state debt of Kyrgyzstan reached $ 708.6 per each citizen. Over the month, the debt burden has decreased by $ 2.1.

According to the Ministry of Finance, as of December 31, 2018, the total amount of state debt (external + internal) of Kyrgyzstan was $ 4,464.35 billion (311,834.67 billion soms), including $ 3,825.75 billion (267,228.64 billion soms) — external, $ 638.6 million (44,606.03 billion soms) — internal debt.

For a month, the country’s state debt decreased by $ 13.08 million. Kyrgyzstan still owes most of all the Export-Import Bank of China — $ 1,719.38 billion (44.9 percent of the country’s external debt).

At the end of 2018, the state debt amounted to 56 percent of GDP. Over the year, the debt burden decreased by $ 65.65 million.

As of December 1, 2018, at least 6.3 million people lived in Kyrgyzstan. The average salary in the republic is 16,218 soms. To repay the state debt, each Kyrgyzstani has to give 3.05 salaries.
