The Bishkek City Court denied retrial of the case of lawyers of ex-deputy of the Parliament Omurbek Tekebayev on the suit of the Prosecutor General’s Office on the protection of honor and dignity of now the ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev. The lawyer Taalaigul Toktakunova informed 24.kg news agency.
According to her, such a decision is not justified. Together with Kanatbek Aziz they intend to appeal the verdict of the city court to the Supreme Court. Lawyers of Ata Meken party leader do not understand that they should refute, and therefore they demanded a review of the case.
The plaintiff asked to declare the information voiced by lawyers of Omurbek Tekebayev at a press conference not corresponding to reality. The court granted the claim and recovered from the defendants 10 million soms. Taalaigul Toktakunova was seized her property and salary. Both were forbidden to leave the country. It should be noted that Kanatbek Aziz was nominated by Ata Meken faction as a single candidate for ombudsman.
The court on putting up the property of Taalaigul Toktakunova for auction has been suspended. According to representative of the interests of the former head of state Nurbek Sydykov, Almazbek Atambayev does not intend to withdraw material claims.
