No Kyrgyzstanis among victims of earthquake in Iran

According to preliminary data, there are no Kyrgyzstanis among the earthquake victims in Iran. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

«These are victims of a powerful earthquake, tremors of which were felt in Iraq. The epicenter was located 32 kilometers from the Iranian city of Sarpol-e-Zahab and 100 kilometers from the Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah, its focus was at a depth of ten kilometers,» the report said.

According to foreign media, seismic shocks that followed the earth crust tremors forced many people, leaving their homes, to spend the night on the street.

Almost 2,000 people were injured. Most of all died in the provinces of Kermanshah and Ilam, which were mainly hit by the quake. Rescuers take hundreds of people out of the rubble of collapsed buildings, they do not exclude that the number of victims will grow. The strategic facilities of Iran have not been affected.
