Lawyers announced another petition during hearing of the case against Ata Meken leader Omurbek Tekebayev and ex-head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Duishenkul Chotonov.
Lawyers believe that the case should be sent for further investigation to the Prosecutor General’s Office to fill in the gaps. Attorney Chinara Dzhakupbekova added that it is necessary to call to account the Russian businessmen Leonid Maevsky and Alexander Modin, since the accusations against Chotonov and Tekebayev are based on their testimony. Moreover, the investigation admitted that the defendants received $ 1 million for the promotion of the deal on MegaCom. So, according to Dzhakupbekova, it is necessary to bring Maevsky and Modin to justice for bribery.
Omurbek Tekebayev and Duishenkul Chotonov are accused of corruption. They are being held in the pretrial detention center of GKNB since February 26.
