QR payments in Kyrgyzstan have grown tenfold, reaching 908.6 billion soms. Almaz Baketaev, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, stated during the 2025 financial year-end report in the Zhogorku Kenesh.
It was noted that the number of QR transactions has also increased sharply, reaching 525.1 million operations, approximately eight times the 2024 level.
The cashless payment infrastructure is expanding — the number of QR terminals at retail outlets has reached 114,100, an increase of almost 95 percent year-on-year.
At least 20 banks and 14 payment organizations participate in the QR payment system, fostering competition and accelerating the spread of digital payments across the country.
