The Women’s Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on the theme «Women’s Leadership» has been opened in Bishkek. The event is being held on June 26-27 as part of the Kyrgyz Republic’s 2026 SCO chairmanship.
The forum brought together representatives of government agencies from SCO member states, international organizations, civil society, experts, women entrepreneurs, and leaders of women’s movements.
The main theme of the meeting is expanding the role of women in socio-political and economic life, as well as creating new opportunities for women to participate in sustainable development processes.
During the forum, participants will discuss issues of women’s leadership, women’s participation in decision-making, economic development, gender equality, and cooperation between states in the region.
The program includes three main sessions: «Women’s Leadership: The Role of Women in Political and Public Decision-Making,» «The Role of Women in Economic Development,» and a panel discussion on women’s empowerment.
The event is being held at Ene-Sai State Residence in Bishkek.
