People’s writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Raev became an academician of the European Academy of Natural Sciences (Europäische Akademie der Naturwissenschaften). Statement of the Academy says.
It is specified that the ceremony of awarding the title of academician and full member of EANS will be held on October 18.
The European Academy of Natural Sciences unites scientific, intellectual, cultural and humanitarian spheres all over the world. The headquarters of the Academy is located in the German city of Hanover.
The organization includes representatives of world culture and art, well-known personalities who have made a significant contribution to the humanities and natural sciences, education and culture. Raev was one of the first citizens of Kyrgyzstan elected as a full member of EANS, his name was included in the encyclopedia of the Academy.
«The works of the Kyrgyz writer have been translated into many languages of European countries. Raev’s novel «Flood» won the main prize at an international literary contest in Sweden. He is also the winner of the Henryk Sienkiewicz literary prize. His drama «The Queen’s Lament» was staged in 2016 at London’s The Space Theater,» the statement says.
Sultan Raev was honored with a reception at Buckingham Palace in 2002 at the personal invitation of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2023, his novel «Kara» was published in Hungarian.
