Land plot worth $2 million voluntarily returned to Bishkek

A land plot worth more than 1 billion soms has been returned to the state. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

According to it, the fact of acquisition of a municipal land plot at a reduced price and its transfer to private ownership by prior collusion was established.

The land plot of 2.5 hectares, located in Bishkek on Tynaliev Street, was given for temporary use for the design and construction of a school. As a result of collusion with officials of the City Hall, the land was taken into private ownership through an auction in 2011 for $340,000, when its actual market value at that time was about $2 million.

The original purpose of the land plot was changed to the construction of a multi-storey residential complex with a shopping center. During the investigation, the owner of the land plot voluntarily transferred it to the state.

Investigative measures are being carried out to detect similar facts and identify officials involved.
