The director of Bishkek Batken market was detained. The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.
According to it, money from tenants were illegally collected, rental prices for premises were unreasonably increased, and taxes were evaded on a particularly large scale at the market.
Facts of violation of architectural and construction standards were revealed. At the same time, the market management did not provide comfortable conditions for traders, the state committee said.
In August 2023, market management increased rental prices by 33 percent.
The general director of Recons LLC, his deputy and the market accountant were detained.
The owner of Batken-Comfort market is former deputy of the Parliament, former first vice prime minister Askarbek Shadiev.
