Organizers of criminal clashes detained in Jalal-Abad

Organizers of local criminal clashes were detained in Jalal-Abad. The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

Criminal clashes between youth groups, divided into people from various districts and suburban villages of Jalal-Abad, have reportedly become more frequent.

«At the same time, the clashes often took place in public places with the use of cold and traumatic firearms and with the infliction of grievous bodily harm on the participants.

The main instigators were individuals who positioned themselves as leaders of criminal groups and proclaimed individuals as the so-called «enforcers» in microdistricts. Their activities had the characteristics of an organized criminal group with a certain hierarchy and structure, in the ranks of which athletic young people were recruited,» the SCNS said.

On October 20, the SCNS opened a criminal case under Article 261 «Creation of an organized criminal group or participation in it» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and on November 17, two men were detained. They had previously been repeatedly prosecuted for various types of crimes.

«During the search in cars and at their place of residence, cold arms and firearms with a modified design, ammunition, masks, and an RPG-5 grenade were discovered and seized. Relevant examinations have been scheduled,» the state committee noted.

Other persons involved in this criminal group are being identified and will also be brought to justice in the future.
