A number of bilateral documents were signed following the talks between the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) Ma Xingrui. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
In particular, memorandums were signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the People’s Government of the XUAR on connecting the energy infrastructure in order to supply electricity and on the construction of a highway passing through the planned Bedel checkpoint.
Agreements were adopted on expanding cooperation between the postal services of the two countries to develop cross-border electronic commerce and intensify accelerated passage of mail, as well as on the provision of 25 scholarship places for the education of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in higher educational institutions of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and the Chinese company TBEA signed a Memorandum of Intent on cooperation in the construction of Sary-Jaz cascade of hydropower plans and a draft memorandum of cooperation on the construction of a 500 kilovolt Kemin — Torugart power transmission line.
