About 100,000 Kyrgyzstanis become victims of cyber attacks in 2021

About 100,000 Kyrgyzstanis fell victims to cyberattacks last year. An employee of the Coordinating Center for Cybersecurity of the State Committee for National Security Timur Derbishaliev announced at a conference in Bishkek.

«Of the total, 42 percent were attacked by viruses through removable media — memory sticks and disks. We recorded more than 60,000 attempts of transition to phishing pages. 19 percent of corporate Internet users were affected by web threats, including government services and departments,» he said.

Four criminal cases were initiated on the facts of break-ins and attempts of unauthorized access to databases. The investigation revealed the activities of the hacker groups The CycleDek and ART 41, which for a long time managed to remain unnoticed in government databases.
