Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Kyrgyzstan Dr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
He thanked the organization for assistance and support in the implementation of important projects in Kyrgyzstan in the field of education, health care, support for the population of mountain regions, in the financial and economic sphere. A special topic of conversation was the successful functioning of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Naryn. Akylbek Japarov called it an exemplary scientific and educational institution that provides affordable high-quality education for young people. The official also commended UCA for its contribution to the economic development of Naryn city.
«It would be great if the Aga Khan Foundation considered the possibility of developing Naryn State University following the example of UCA, this would make the city a scientific, educational and cultural center of the republic,» Akylbek Japarov said.
In turn, Shamsh Kassim-Lakha noted that creation of UCA would have been impossible without the support of the government.
The parties agreed to continue multifaceted cooperation in priority areas for Kyrgyzstan.
