Former deputy chairman of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan Raiymbek Matraimov returns to Kyrgyzstan and is ready to answer questions from law enforcement agencies. His statement, published on the Facebook page of his brother, deputy of the Parliament Iskender Matraimov, says.
Raiymbek Matraimov refutes the information voiced in the investigation of Azattyk, Kloop and OCCRP about him, and claims that this is the work of his political opponents.
"For the past two years, some political forces have spread rumors and false information to denigrate me. I hoped this would stop, but this denigrating campaign has risen to a new level. Some journalists have become a tool of these political forces. If yesterday they indicated me as the cause of all economic problems, now they are throwing mud at me and blaming me for the very terrible crimes,” Raiymbek Matraimov said in the statement.
According to the former deputy chairman of the State Customs Service, he is abroad and is engaged in business, but is ready to return.
"During my absence, NGOs and public organizations were involved in the vilifying campaign and began to use the youth as a tool for their political goals. All the information voiced in the investigation is not true, and I am ready to prove my innocence in these cases. I return to the country and I am ready to answer all questions regarding me, including from law enforcement agencies,” said Raiymbek Matraimov.
Recall, a Chinese businessman Aierken Saimaiti, murdered in Istanbul, told reporters before his death how he transferred millions of dollars from Kyrgyzstan and who of the local officials helped him in this. Smuggling schemes lead to the Raiymbek Matraimov’s clan.
