Prime Ministers of EEU in Cholpon-Ata: 12 documents signed

Meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council ended in Cholpon-Ata town. The Information Support Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The event was held in the cultural center Rukh Ordo. The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev greeted the participants of the meeting on the shore of Issyk-Kul lake and congratulated them on the 5th anniversary of signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union and the 25th anniversary of the idea of Eurasian integration.

«Eurasian integration has always been a priority in the foreign economic policy of the republic. The decision made on EEU platform this year on recognizing the equivalence of the veterinary control system of the Kyrgyz Republic provided an opportunity and an additional incentive in the development of trade and economic relations,» he stressed.

At the same time, the Head of Government believes that EEU has established itself as a full-fledged and rapidly developing integration association.

Over five years of functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union, tangible results of the systemic work of all the member states of the organization are noticeable.

Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev

«In the first years of integration, countries determined a vector towards building up the economic and trade potential of the union, and past years can be described as a breakthrough in the field of strengthening the position of the union in the international arena. This is evidenced by the existing free trade zone with Vietnam, signed agreements with Iran and China and ongoing active negotiations with Singapore, India, Egypt, Serbia and Israel,» he said.

The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that one of the main goals of the union is the desire to form a single market for goods, services, capital and labor resources, which obliges us to refrain from measures that could negatively affect the achievement of EEU goals.

«The negative impact of external factors, along with barriers within the union, continues to «erode» the effect of the net impact of integration. Unfortunately, despite the priority and inviolability of the basic principles, barriers and restrictions still exist in the domestic market of the association. In this regard, we consider it necessary to take comprehensive measures to eliminate them, as well as to empower the commission with expanded powers to fairly and expeditiously resolve disputes in order to ensure the full functioning of the union without barriers, exemptions and restrictions,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

In addition, he invited the participants to the IV International Forum Eurasian Week 2019, which will be held from September 25 to September 27 in Bishkek, and Tengri Music Festival, which will take place this weekend in Rukh Ordo cultural center.

Following the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council of the Heads of Government of EEU member states, 12 documents were signed:
