At least 1,500 financial literacy textbooks for senior school students were published in Kyrgyzstan. Chairperson of the Board of the Institute for Development Policy, Nadezhda Dobretsova, told journalists.
According to her, the publication of the textbooks was financed by several commercial banks. The first sets of manuals in the Kyrgyz language were sent to schools of the republic. In addition, the feature film Credit was shot to draw attention to the financial literacy issue.
«It tells about a rural boy whose family has lost their house because of poor money management. As a result, it is the boy who helps parents get out of the difficult life situation. The premiere of the film will take place in late April. Not only professional actors play in the film, but also residents of the village where the movie was shot,» Nadezhda Dobretsova told.
The Global Money Week started in Kyrgyzstan for the fifth time. This year it is held under the motto «Learn. Save. Earn.»
