Fake veterans in Kyrgyzstan. Seven criminal cases initiated

The Military Prosecutor’s Office opened seven criminal cases against 49 people on the grounds of crimes under articles 166 (fraud), 304 (abuse of official position), 315 (official forgery) and 350 (use of a knowingly fake document) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan reported.

At present, the bodies of the Military Prosecutor’s Office are conducting checks, as well as investigative measures on the facts of the illegal registration of persons by the military commissariats as participants of hostilities in Afghanistan.

Such facts were revealed in the military commissariats of Osh, Nookat, Kadamdzhay, Kara-Suu districts and the State Border Service.

The preliminary amount of damage caused to the state is 29,294 million soms.

In order to confirm participation of persons in the war in Afghanistan, inquiries were timely sent to the relevant archives of Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and other states of the former USSR.

It was earlier reported that an interdepartmental commission on detection of people illegally using benefits revealed that payments to fake Afghans amounted to 129,156,000 soms for eight years.
