The special forces unit Scorpion the day before celebrated its 24th anniversary since establishment. The Information Support Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Festive events took place in Scorpion unit. Guests were able to see military equipment, weapons and watch staging of a release of hostages from the hands of terrorists. Fighters, who deserved a green beret, received it from the hands of the commander and the veterans of the unit.
«Special forces unit Scorpion is considered to be one of the best — for the distinctions in military service, it was repeatedly awarded a pennant of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. The number of people wishing to join it is growing from year to year. Special forces have great experience and excellent combat skills, they represent the Armed Forces at international exercises and competitions,» the General Staff noted. «This is an elite unit with a great future. It meets all the requirements of the new model army. It is a great honor to serve there.»
