The Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan announced his resignation. Chynybai Tursunbekov made a statement today at a plenary session.
He decided to make his speech from the central tribune. He appealed to the media and deputies.
«I have been in politics for 7 years. I was the leader of SDPK faction and was elected the Speaker of the Parliament. When I came to the party, it has specific ideas. However, we could not do everything during this time. At the same time, the Kyrgyz Parliament takes a high place in the international arena and actively manifests its activities. We have managed to set a goal and were able to fulfill it. We are moving to parliamentary power. To do this, we must bring the constitutional reform to the end. For 1.5 years, I have been trying to justify the confidence, did not separate anyone. Someone may like my position, some does not. All my activity was based on the principles of legality. To lower the tension that has risen in the presidential election, I must leave too and observe the law,» Chynybai Tursunbekov said.
