Militant trained in Syria detained in Kyrgyzstan

Employees of the State Committee for National Security detained a 23-year-old member of an international terrorist organization, a native of Jalal-Abad region. Press service of the committee reported.

It was found out that in 2012 the detainee underwent sabotage and terrorist training in one of the militant camps in Syria and participated in military operations against government troops. On the orders of the leaders, he arrived in Kyrgyzstan and began to actively prepare for sabotage and terrorist actions, being in «standby mode.»

The investigative bodies of the State National Security Committee initiated a criminal case under Article 375 (Mercenary activities) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
