Amendments to the Criminal Code, involving an increase in fines for violation of traffic rules, were submitted to Parliament for consideration.
According to the initiator of the bill, Dastan Bekeshev, the document was developed to reduce traffic accidents, eliminate cases of reconciliation of parties during traffic accidents resulting in death of a person, as well as to abolish corruption in imposing a criminal punishment by judges.
The current provisions of the Criminal Code allow defendants to avoid punishment, even in cases of a death of a person as a result of an accident. The accused or his relatives, using the right of reconciliation, resort to bribing the relatives of the deceased person. In most cases, they make concessions that lead to impunity.
