Interventions bring result. Dollar rises in price

After two interventions by the National Bank, US dollar in Kyrgyzstan began to rise in price again. For two days, it grew by 50 tyiyn.

Today, the capital’s exchange offices and commercial banks buy the dollar for 68.6–68.7 soms, and sell — for 68.8–68.9. The nominal rate was set at 68.68 soms (0.32 percent growth per day).

Recall, dollar started sharply falling in the middle of July. In just a couple of weeks, it lost 1 som in price. This forced the National Bank to intervene twice last week to buy dollars. In total, $18.3 million was purchased. This allowed to stop sharp jumps in the value of the foreign currency. Dollar is approaching 69 soms again.
