Abror Azimov, who is suspected of organizing a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg metro, came to Kyrgyzstan early in the year. His relatives living in Jalal-Abad informed 24.kg news agency.
According to them, he went to Russia together with his father in 2008, and changed his citizenship in 2013, writing a corresponding application to the President Almazbek Atambayev.
His father is a Russian citizen, and his mother is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan. As Asimov’s relatives note, he regularly came to the Kyrgyz Republic. His mother, his younger brother and two sisters live here (his father is in Russia).
Relatives of Abror Azimov argue that he had never been very religious, like the whole family. And when he came to Kyrgyzstan, he visited the mosque only during the Friday prayer.
According to St. Petersburg «Fontanka» agency, like Jalilov, Azimov visited Turkey several times before the terrorist attack — in March and October 2016.
«Departing from Moscow to Istanbul, he returned to the capital (of Russia) three days later through Seoul and Vladivostok," the agency writes.
But the purpose of Azimov’s visit to Turkey, as well as his connection with any terrorist organizations, has not yet been established. Relatives of Abror Azimov do not know anything about his visits to Turkey.
He admitted his guilt and the court has to decide on the measure of restraint today.
The explosion in the St. Petersburg metro occurred on April 3. Victims of the terrorist attack were 14 people, more than 50 were injured.
