Informal CIS summit: Presidents informed about biological safety

Traditional informal meeting of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place in St. Petersburg (Russia). Press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin, who initiated the event, greeted the participants, noting that the past years have shown the necessity of creation of the CIS, within which integration between the countries is deepening in various directions. According to him, at the present time, this gives the CIS countries an advantage in overcoming the difficulties associated with the coronavirus infection pandemic, even better than in many other countries of the world.

«Head of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Rights Protection and Welfare — Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Russia Anna Popova presented a report on biological safety in the CIS. The leaders of the countries exchanged views on joint activities to overcome the disease, expressed their views and proposals,» the statement says.
