Almazbek Atambayev: Before EEU, Kyrgyzstanis went for earnings as slaves

The President of Kyrgyzstan in an interview to MIR TV told why the republic joined the Eurasian Economic Union and what advantages labor migrants received.

According to him, thanks to joining the EEU, Kyrgyzstan facilitated the life of migrant workers. «If today the issue was about joining the union, of course, we would have entered. And all these fictitious questions must be solved, of course. Don’t try to win at the expense of the smaller or weaker, or, conversely, don’t try to outsmart the richer. That is, we need to be honest," Almazbek Atambayev said.

Previously, our citizens went to the same Russia, and it’s not to offend the Russians, but they worked there on the condition of labor slaves, and now — quite another attitude to them.

«They have the legal rights to fly, stay on the territory of Russia and Kazakhstan for up to 30 days, they can quietly look for work — our diplomas of higher education are recognized now," the head of state said.
