"Kyrgyzstan-Russia: Verges of Cooperation" exhibition opens in Bishkek

An exhibition «Kyrgyzstan-Russia: Verges of Cooperation," dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries opened today at the National Library named after A. Osmonov in Bishkek.

Since March 20, 1992, more than 200 interstate treaties and agreements have been signed. Countries interact within CIS, CSTO and SCO.

Since August 12, 2015, Kyrgyzstan has joined the Eurasian Economic Union. «Yes, there are difficulties on this path. It is difficult to adapt the standards, meet certain requirements of technical regulations. Nevertheless, the process is underway," Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Andrey Krutko said at the opening ceremony.

«What you see today reflects the soul of the peoples and the sincerity of the intentions of our political classes. This is a tangible evidence of our friendship," Andrey Krutko said.

The first section presents articles, publications, photographs, books, historical sources that highlight the key stages of relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia since proclaiming of sovereignty.

The second presents materials about the formation of historical ties. The third section is devoted to the Russian language, the fourth — to partnership in the spheres of culture, science, education, including the creation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.

The exhibition is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kyrgyzstan.
