China to help Kyrgyzstan expand access to cardiac surgery

Kyrgyzstan and China are strengthening cooperation in cardiac surgery. The Ministry of Health’s press center reported.

According to the press center, during an official visit, Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakytbek Kadyraliev signed an agreement to implement the Kind Heart Journey surgical project, aimed at providing high-tech medical care to children with congenital heart defects in the Kyrgyz Republic. The document was signed with Zheng Zhe, Deputy Director of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

The project will expand access to modern cardiac surgery, strengthen professional cooperation between medical institutions in the two countries, and create additional opportunities for exchanging experience, implementing advanced technologies, and improving the qualifications of specialists.

As part of the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation also visited leading specialized medical institutions in China. During meetings with the clinics’ deputy directors, the parties discussed a wide range of promising areas of cooperation, including the development of cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, medical personnel training, joint research, the implementation of innovative medical technologies, and the expansion of academic and professional exchange programs.

The signing of the agreement and the negotiations confirm the two countries’ commitment to further strengthening their strategic partnership in healthcare, implementing joint humanitarian initiatives, and improving the quality of specialized medical care for the population.
