Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Kyrgyz Republic, Lesslie Viguerie, the parliament’s press service reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
The sides exchanged views on the current state of the partnership and also discussed issues related to visa issuance procedures.
In particular, the speaker expressed concern over the tightening of visa requirements for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and asked for assistance in reviewing the amount of the required visa bond.
Lesslie Viguerie provided clarifications regarding visa-related matters, emphasizing that the introduced requirements are aimed at preventing violations of legislation in this area.
During the meeting, proposals for expanding cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and further developing the partnership between the peoples of the two countries were also discussed.
