Ex-president of Kok Boru Federation detained for links to organized crime group

Former President of the Kok Boru Federation of Kyrgyzstan, Talas Begaliev, has been detained in Bishkek. A source in law enforcement confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.

He was detained by law enforcement officers together with employees of the State Committee for National Security.

The press service of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek told 24.kg news agency that a preventive measure was chosen for Talas Begaliev and two other men on May 16 in the form of detention in a pretrial detention center until July 12. B.T.K. (Talas Begaliev), T.A.T. and T. uulu Ch. were detained on suspicion of «creating a criminal organization or participating in it» under the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
