First Lady of Kyrgyzstan Aigul Japarova spoke at the World Women’s Forum «Towards Green Future» in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia). The presidential press service reported.
The Forum is being held on August 22-23 under the auspices of the leader of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in cooperation with the UN. The event is attended by heads of state, government and ministers of 15 countries, representatives of more than 20 international organizations, women leaders.
Aigul Japarova expressed confidence that the forum would become a fruitful dialogue platform for building a fair, prosperous and peaceful society, and would give impetus to common activities for the 30th anniversary of the adoption of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
Kyrgyzstan adopted the National Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality by 2030 in September 2022.
To date, the issue is one of the priority areas of development of the Kyrgyz Republic. Work continues to create conditions and opportunities for promoting women’s entrepreneurship.
Aigul Japarova recalled that the Green Economy Development Program in the Kyrgyz Republic was approved in 2019, which determines seven priority sectors:
- Green energy;
- Green agriculture;
- Green industry;
- Sustainable tourism;
- Low-emission transport;
- Waste management;
- Green cities.
In addition, measures have been implemented since 2021, aimed at creating a national mechanism for financing green projects.
