Russian doctors will perform surgery on Asel Nogoybaeva, who suffered at the hands of her ex-husband. She told Kaktus.media about this.
It is noted that Russian and Turkish doctors came to Kyrgyzstan to participate in an international congress. They contacted the First Lady Aigul Japarova through diplomats and offered to help Asel Nogoibaeva, whose ex-husband cut off her ears and nose.
«During the meeting, the doctors told about the first stage of the operation. It was decided that the operation would be performed by Russian doctors. To be more precise, we ourselves decided that they would do it,» she noted.
The surgery is planned for September.
Earlier, the victim’s cousin Diana Elken told that the surgery to restore the ears and nose would cost at least $45,000.
On September 20, 2023, 36-year-old Asel Nogoibaeva was admitted to the hospital with stab wounds. Her ex-husband Azamat Estebesov cut off her ears and nose and mutilated her body. The fact was registered under Article 130 «Causing grievous bodily harm» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. A criminal case was opened. The 39-year-old ex-husband was detained in connection with the fact. On January 26, the Sokuluk District Court sentenced Azamat Estebesov to 20 years in prison. According to the court’s decision, the accused must pay Asel Nogoibaeva 2 million soms, and 80,000 soms to the state as a fine.
