Sadyr Japarov sums up results of CIS chairmanship

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov spoke at a meeting of the Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in a narrow format.

The most important from his speech:

— Within the framework of its chairmanship, Kyrgyzstan set the task of increasing the efficiency of the CIS activities, deepening integration and active involvement of member states in the adoption and implementation of decisions;

— In June of this year, at the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in Sochi, an agreement on free trade in services was signed. After its ratification, it will be easier for businesses in all CIS countries to move and work; a road will be opened to all countries of the Commonwealth, where they will be able to provide services and invest in promising projects;

— Kyrgyzstan has been actively working to mitigate the effects of climate change and ensure climate resilience. Among the initiatives being implemented is the national campaign Zhashyl Muras. Within its framework, 8 million trees and shrubs will be planted throughout Kyrgyzstan;

— Kyrgyzstan stands for continuing to take timely measures and implement projects in the field of irrigation, energy and infrastructure aimed at the efficient use of water and land resources, provision of cheap and environmentally friendly electricity, and adaptation to climate change;

— Kyrgyzstan considers it important to continue to jointly promote the green economy development initiative and the implementation of large-scale and promising projects;

— 2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS. The President is confident that the Russian language will remain the language of communication of the Commonwealth countries, and expressed gratitude that the 95th anniversary of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov will be celebrated throughout the Commonwealth;

— The President outlined one of the important areas of cooperation — the field of digitalization. He asked to support the draft statement in the field of digital technologies initiated by the Kyrgyz side.
