The State Duma ratified the agreement between Russia and Kyrgyzstan on the creation of a unified regional air defense system.
The agreement was signed in Moscow on August 16, 2022. According to the document, in order to improve air defense in the region, the parties are creating a joint regional air defense system of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, which is an integral part of the joint air defense system of the CIS member states.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Armed Forces will coordinate joint actions of the troops of the joint regional air defense system of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic and the troops that are part of other regional air defense systems of the CIS member states.
