Russia approves agreement with Kyrgyzstan on unified air defense system

The Government of the Russian Federation has approved an agreement with Kyrgyzstan on the creation of a unified regional air defense system. The decree was signed by the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The document was published on the official portal of legal information.

This is an agreement between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, which was signed in Moscow on August 16, 2022. After approval by the Government, the document will be submitted to the Russian President Vladimir Putin for submission to the State Duma and the Federation Council for ratification.

Recall, presidents of the two countries had a telephone conversation on Monday and discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space. They confirmed the mutual intention to strengthen the allied relations between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, and also agreed to continue to maintain personal contact.

Ten member countries of the CIS signed an agreement on the unification of air defense systems on February 10, 1995.
