Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sergei Vakunov spoke at a state reception to mark Russia Day, celebrated on June 12. In his speech, the diplomat emphasized that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia continue to strengthen thanks to close political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation.
The Ambassador congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and stated that Russia has consistently supported the republic’s candidacy throughout this process.
The diplomat also highlighted cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He recalled that the SCO summit, expected to be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will be held in Bishkek in August-September.
Sergei Vakunov also stated that the modern world is undergoing a profound transformation of international relations, with countries in the Global South and East becoming new centers of growth. He stated that Russia supports strengthening a multipolar world order and upholding the principles of international law.
Concluding his speech, the ambassador congratulated his compatriots and all guests at the reception on Russia Day, wishing them peace, prosperity, and success.
