The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan decided to extend the winter school break. The head of the ministry, Ulan Mambetakunov, told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the order is being prepared.
«We decided not to start the new term with online learning. Schoolchildren will go to school on Monday, January 16,» the official said.
It should be noted that the winter school break was extended in schools of Uzbekistan until January 17 due to impending frosts, the Ministry of Public Education of the republic reported. As noted, the new academic term will begin on January 18 — a week later than planned.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan warned that abnormally cold weather was expected in the country. According to the ministry, citing the Hydrometeorological Service, a sharp deterioration in the weather, snow, and ice on the roads are forecast from January 11 in the republic.
The abnormal cold, according to forecasters, will hinder the work of automobile, energy and utilities services, as well as grazing of cattle.
It is recommended to refrain from traveling and trips to the mountains.
