Expired medicines: Human rights activists reveal violations in orphanages in Osh

Employees of the territorial office of the National Center for Prevention of Torture for Osh region visited two orphanages in Osh city, where orphans aged from 4 to 16 live.

They found a number of violations. In particular, there is no menu. According to the sanitary and epidemiological rules and regulations, children and adolescents need good nutrition. The menu is designed taking into account the nutritional needs for vitamins and microelements and contains quantitative data on the recipe of dishes. No one controls the cooking and no sample is taken from the finished food. Food products were stored on the floor. Twenty packs of expired Rolton pasta were found. The administration has not presented certificates of conformity for food products.

Inspectors also found expired medicines. The period of admission to work of two employees has expired.

Acts have been drawn up on all these facts.
