Four countries agree to revive Central Asian Games

The Olympic Committees of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan discussed the issue of resumption of the Central Asian Games. Official website of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kazakhstan reports.

According to it, the Secretaries General of the Olympic Committees of the countries met in Seoul (Korea) within the framework of the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

The parties agreed to jointly develop a sports program, as well as to resume the Games in the next two years. The country and dates will be determined later.

In addition, the parties reached an agreement to develop mechanisms to improve the individual and joint preparations of countries by 2023, which will be a qualifying stage on the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For this purpose, the parties agreed to use sports facilities of Central Asia on mutually beneficial terms.

Kazakhstan has been chairing the Olympic Council of Asia for the Central Asian region since 2015. In total, seven countries belong to the region according to OCA: Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
