Finance Ministry predicts GDP growth of 6.5 percent in 2022

Real GDP growth in 2022 is predicted at the level of 6.5 percent. The Finance Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Baketaev announced today at public hearings.

According to him, in 2022, economic recovery is predicted after the stabilization of the situation with the coronavirus pandemic. It will gradually begin to gain momentum, and business activity will grow.

«The main goal of macroeconomic policy for 2022 will be to maintain positive trends in economic growth and ensure sustainable economic development of the country. The economic policy will be aimed at stimulating the development of industries with high potential for import substitution, creation of jobs, increasing the well-being of the people,» Almaz Baketaev said.

As for 2023, GDP is forecast at 3.9 percent, in 2024 — 4 percent.
