Restrictions on the passage of heavy vehicles (trucks) were imposed on Bishkek — Osh highway until improvement of weather conditions in the area of Too-Ashuu pass. The Ministry of Transport of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Packed snow, ice is observed starting from the 118th to the 146th kilometer of the road before and beyond Too-Ashuu pass in Suusamyr valley. Cleaning and covering of the roadway with inert anti-slip materials is underway. It is also snowing on Ala-Bel and Kok-Bel passes.
«All the necessary equipment is involved in cleaning the roadway on the passes, inert materials are used to ensure safe passage of vehicles. The thickness of the snow cover on Too-Ashuu and Otmok passes is 10-15 centimeters,» the Ministry of Transport said.
Drivers are urged to have snow chains, not to drive into the oncoming lane (in case of a traffic jam), not to hinder passage of special vehicles to the place of traffic jams, not to travel by cars with summer tires, and to keep a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
