Amendments to the law of the Kyrgyz Republic on protection from domestic violence were discussed in Bishkek.
Speaking at the round table, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov said that the Cabinet of Ministers would increase funding to support crisis centers.
«We announce allocation of additional 25 million soms next year for programs to protect women. At least 5 million soms of them will be allocated to public organizations for conducting a wide educational program to raise awareness among the population about domestic violence cases, 20 million soms — to support crisis centers. At least 7 million soms were allocated for these purposes this year,» Edil Baisalov said and expressed hope that the volume of funding would increase.
