In June 2018, the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry relocated 9 red deer from the Naryn state reserve to Baltyrkan forest reserve in Aksy district of Jalal-Abad region. All the deer survived and feel good, the agency’s press service reported.
According to it, the deer are under constant supervision of the State Agency’s staff.
«Two deer moved to the territory of Sary-Chelek biosphere reserve. One, accustomed to hand feeding, often comes to the nearest Tovar-Sai village, and periodically the agency’s staff drives him back to the Avletim forestry,» the agency told.
The state agency added that the purpose of the relocation was the preservation and reproduction of the deer, as well as the expansion of its habitats.
The Baltyrkan forest reserve is located on the territory of Avletim forestry and borders on Sary-Chelek biosphere reserve. The total area is 504 hectares with dense forest at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level.
