Russia’s assistance to Central Asia has exceeded $ 6 billion. Russian media reported with reference to the Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.
It is noted that 2017 is marked by the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the states of Central Asia. President Vladimir Putin had met with leaders of all countries in the region.
«Russia has established relations of alliance or strategic partnership with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Joint efforts have led to the formation of a solid juridical and legal framework, a trusted political dialogue has been established, including at the highest level, and in general a close multifaceted cooperation has been ensured. The most important pillars in this work have ever been the geographic proximity, a common history, the intertwining of human destinies,» the report said.
The volume of Russian investments is about $ 20 billion. More than 7,500 Russian and joint ventures are fruitfully working in Central Asia. Only in 2013-2016, the countries of the region received more than $ 37 billion as a result of labor activity of their citizens in Russia.
The total volume of assistance to the states of Central Asia exceeded $ 6 billion. Debts of Kyrgyzstan ($ 488 million) and Uzbekistan ($ 865 million) have been written off. There is a support in the form of duty-free supplies of oil and oil products.
Over the past quarter century, Central Asian countries have become full participants in international life. Today, they make a significant contribution to the maintenance of regional and global stability.
