Head of Bashkortostan speaks for increasing trade with Kyrgyzstan

The head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov spoke in favor of an increase in trade with Kyrgyzstan. He stated this yesterday during negotiations with Almazbek Atambayev.

According to him, the Kyrgyz and Bashkir peoples are linked by common national roots, rich history of the Turkic world, a single spiritual culture. This gives the Bashkir-Kyrgyz relations a particularly friendly, allied character.

«The development of relations with Kyrgyzstan is one of the most important areas for Bashkortostan in foreign economic activity. Today we are steadily strengthening our ties in the fields of trade, science, education, culture. Speaking about the economy, we managed to stop a slight decline in turnover. We expect that this year’s figures will exceed the values of the last two years. Moreover, both exports and imports are growing in all major commodity groups," Rustem Khamitov said.

He said that today Bashkiria has an interest in cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, energy. There are opportunities to supply the products of machine-building, produced in Bashkortostan, including buses, agricultural machinery. Negotiations on the establishment of a wholesale distribution center in Bishkek are being held.

«Now is a good time to activate bilateral relations in all directions," the head of Bashkiria concluded.

He added that the famous Bashkir ethnologist recorded the most complete version of the Manas epic poem. Nowadays the epic is translated into the Bashkir language. Rustem Khamitov promised to give Almazbek Atambayev a copy of the work.
