Mudflows have occurred in Batken region following heavy rains, the office of Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the region reported.
According to authorities, mudflows occurred on May 24 in Batken and Leilek districts. In Batken, they flowed along riverbeds and, according to preliminary reports, caused no damage.
«Services have been instructed to carry out restoration measures promptly and efficiently,» the office noted.
Pumping water from basements, cleaning ditches and canals, and ensuring the safety of local residents continue at the local level.
Specialized equipment has been deployed to address the aftermath, and services are working in an enhanced mode. According to authorities, traffic has now been restored and roads are open.
