Rare archival materials handed over to Kyrgyz Embassy in Belgium

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, researcher and entrepreneur Dalia Altuntepe presented valuable historical materials from European archives to the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Belgium.

Among them is a map — a panoramic photograph of the Central Tien Shan, taken from a height of 4,300 meters and published in Munich in 1906.

In addition, Dalia Altuntepe handed over reproductions of 19th-century German paintings that illustrate the life of the Kyrgyz people, including a woodcut «A Herd of Horses in Turkestan Caught in a Snowstorm.»

Dalia Altuntepe, who grew up in Europe, continues to promote Turkic culture and the tourism potential of Central Asia and plans to donate even more rare materials about Kyrgyzstan to the diplomatic mission.
